Pre-Pointe Assessment
Readiness for Pointe Shoes
A pre pointe assessment should be carried out 6-12 months prior to a dancer going onto pointe to assess their readiness for pointe shoes. Pre pointe assessment will include:
Lower limb and core strength
Foot shape and posture
Previous injuries and injury prevention.
Experience and technique
